September 2021 Monthly Minute Welcome to our new Dance Season! We are so excited to be beginning our 35th Season and thrilled to all the returning families and new families who will be joining us as we celebrate this new school year of dancing, encouraging, creating, and learning together. In being part of the Danforth East Community for the past 35 years we have seen many changes, been part of many, many families, had children begin with us at two years of age, and watched them graduate from high school. Like any Parent, watching, teaching, nurturing, loving, and watching your children grow up and then leave home we celebrate all of their successes and are excited when they come back to visit. This is the same for us at Pegasus Dance Studios and all our current and former faculty members. This Year the Faculty and Staff are excited to Celebrate all of our student’s past and present, and hear of their accomplishments. We look forward to reconnecting and have many exciting things planned. Our aim for the last 35 years has never wavered: We provide an inclusive community that serves the community. Nurturing children to be their best selves. We aim to build our studio in a positive direction with priorities of happiness, health, and wellness. Our goals
And so as we head into the new season, I have the great joy of welcoming every student and faculty back to our studio and classes. I also have the responsibility of navigating continuously changing situations as they relate to COVID - 19. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Pegasus Dance Studios has been committed to providing a happy, healthy and safe environment and providing clear communication to the best of our ability. This has allowed us to offer continuous programming with providing consistent access to the benefits of dance, including physical fitness, social-emotional health, and mental wellness. There is so much joy in seeing the happiness of our students while dancing virtually and even more so in person. All COVID-related decisions are based on a variety of factors, mostly our local and provincial guidelines, and additionally extra measures we feel are important. We have updated all of our policies on our website and will continue to update there as things change and we hope that you will look there for additional details. At this time;
It is in our nature to adapt and support each other and we continue to do this in these unprecedented times which we are living in. Our children are mirrors of our reactions and emotions so we will continue to focus on all the positives in finding some normalcy in this different time of dancing and being part of our dance community. We have so much to be thankful for and I personally am thankful for your continued support and belief in Pegasus Dance Studios. “The medical profession has come a long way in recognizing the healing benefits of art. My hope is that someday the arts will be considered as significant and essential in everyone’s lives as breathing fresh air, eating clean foods, and engaging in physical exercise.” - Renee Phillips Love and Best wishes for a great school year! Jane Artistic Director, Pegasus Dance Studios Through the arts, we nurture and empower children to be confident leaders of tomorrow.
