We’ve had a busy month here at Pegasus! It is Bring a Friend and Try a New Class Week, plus we had trial classes (AcroDance and Tutus & Bowties) going for two new mini sessions!! It has been a blast seeing kids connect with their friends from outside and inside dance classes, and we’ve seen kids push themselves outside of their comfort zones by trying a new style of dance. We are so proud and blessed to have such great students. What could top this for November? We are bringing back Kindness Month!! Last year we spent November recognizing kindness in all forms. We spent time in classes and in the studio thinking about kindness and the various ways we can be kind to ourselves, our friends, our space, and generally everything around us. It was awesome to see what our dancers came up with and we felt the kindness radiating throughout the building all month. We are excited to watch the process again this year. Starting on November 1st, take a look around at our Kindness Project and feel free to contribute when you are waiting for your dancer. See you next month!

There is something quite lovely and magical when the summer turns to autumn and we put on cozy sweaters and go exploring, or our favorite thing - apple picking! It is even more magical when exploring and discovering the world through the eyes of a preschooler. We love the vibrancy of the leaves changing colours, the crisp air, nature walks and collecting treasures to use in art activities, sensory bins and nature corners. There are many amazing books, art activities and resources to use with your child at home. We have chosen one for some seasonal activities to try with your little one. Inspired by the book Fall Leaves Fall by Zoe Hall, illustrations by Shari Halpern. This story follows two little brothers watching their favorite tree go through the seasons anticipating the autumn when they can play in the fallen leaves. October is now in full swing which means, recital planning is well under way!
Over the past few dance seasons, our year end recital dates of been changing quite a bit. We are happy to say that things are returning to their normal schedule. So, what is that schedule and how can you be prepared? Here is a little breakdown of some of the key things to look for. November - We will be officially announcing our senior recital dates! (Junior Recital is still May 28, 2017) Along with this announcement we will post our preliminary recital schedule in the reception room. This schedule will tell you which show(s) your dancer will be performing in. If you have a scheduling conflict now is the time to let us know. We are more than happy to rearrange the schedule to make it the best possible for the majority of students, but we can only do that if we have plenty of advanced notice. Once December hits, we can no longer accept your requests to change as we will be finalizing the schedule. |
