Monthly Minute-September 2022

Oh September!!  There are so many things we love about September, from the change in the weather, the change back to routines and the excitement of new beginnings!

Our 36th Season is looking very exciting as we find ways to bring Joy back into our lives and studio. Dance is invaluable in so many ways. Our children are the future and we need to find ways to make them great.
What we do at Pegasus Dance Studios goes beyond the dance class teaching responsibility, confidence, collaboration and creative thinking to name just a few.  We use the Arts to help our children become great, and so we go beyond a Dance Studio and are more of a centre of youth development.

Congratulations to you parents, for making this investment in your most precious people. With the increase in anxiety in our youth, finding a supportive community that not only addresses the importance of physical activity but life skills while making memories is priceless.

The theme for this year's faculty launch meeting was JOY and we certainly were joyful being together and planning this year's dance season.  The theme for the 2023 Showcase will be revealed soon, and it all links together!!  Don’t you love a good secret?

It is important to us at Pegasus Dance Studios that all our faculty and staff share our vision and mission and so I share it with you here as well.

Our aim for the last 36 years has never wavered:
We provide an inclusive community that serves the community. Nurturing children to be their best selves. We aim to build our studio in a positive direction with priorities of happiness, health, and wellness. 

Our goals 

• Positive and engaging classes
• Focus on connection, communication, joy, and resilience
• Creating skills that will last a lifetime

You may have noticed in our Studio our Culture poster that lists our Values. But we have pulled out the essence of that poster and will post these three values in each studio room as a reminder to our students and faculty.

1. TRUST - trust in the process with focus and consistency. Discover the small changes that happen over time, often without much notice. Trust and celebrate the journey.
2. RESPECT - respect yourself, the opportunities and the people who surround you and help us along our journey. You must give respect to receive respect.
3. KINDNESS - above all else choose kindness. Treat each other, your environment and the world around you with kindness.

The first week of classes is always busy and filled with excitement and a little bit of uncertainty as we get to know you and you get to know us, but we LOVE to say we are busy making memories!!
The studio is happiest when there are children, dancers, parents, teachers and lots of JOY as we settle into new routines and new information to learn and share with each other.

We invite you to just be in the moment. Don’t worry about anything!  Over the next few weeks we will make sure everyone is taken care of.
