What an amazing week last week was for all those dancers and classes who participated in our Showcase Photos and showed me their dances. I am so excited to see the finished choreography at our upcoming Junior and Senior Showcases. We always try to keep an element of surprise, but this year, parents, I can imagine how exciting it will be to finally see your dancers on stage!! Please make sure all the details are on your calendar and your tickets have been ordered! SHOWCASE We are counting down! All the Showcase details are now posted on our website! Your child’s class summary, recommendations for the Fall 2022 Season and schedule are now ready to be picked up when you drop off your child! Please come into the Reception room. Priority Registration for current families will begin and open to new families on June 1st so please register early! STUDENT PATHWAY MEETINGS You have received your fall registration package, you have looked at the placement card and recommendations for classes on your Parent Portal but you just need to talk to someone to help plan your child pick the best classes and pathway to meet their goals. We have you covered. We will be setting up zoom appointments in the next couple of weeks. Please pick up your Fall Packages in the Pegasus Reception Room Victoria Day Holiday - No classes, Monday, May 23, 2022 Junior Showcases - Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Pegasus Studios - your tickets are ready to pick up in the Reception Room. Student Art Show - Saturday, May 28 from 6:30-7:30 Last Day of Classes -Friday, June 3, 2022 Senior Showcase - Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5, 2022 Ballet and Performance Company Placement Class - Tuesday, June 14th for Company Placement Class.  What Progress in Dance Looks Like Dance class is a lot like school in many ways: your child explores new ideas, practices skills, solves problems, and develops friendships. Unlike school though, dance classes don’t have a new grade level every year. This can seem strange at first, but for dance education it’s very normal and expected! At Pegasus Studios our dance students experience “growth” years (when they move up a level) and “grind” years (when they remain in the same level). Because every dancer develops at their own pace, this advancement will look a little different for everyone over time. For example, a student might experience growth to the next level only after grinding it out at their current level for two years. |
