At Pegasus Studios we love any reason to celebrate and Halloween is just one of our favourite holidays to celebrate with dance and music. Whether your child can join us for our second annual Pegasus Studios Boo Bash (https://app.jackrabbitclass.com/regevent.asp?xID=5074585...) or not, your family can have some serious dance fun this Halloween season.
We love books and getting inspiration from a story is a great starting point. We have some of our favourite books to share with you. Vamperina Ballerina by Anne Marie Pace is a great book for the young ballet dancer in your life and shares a lot of ballet vocabulary within the story; Frank Was a Monster Who Wanted to Dance by Keith Graves is a silly, albeit slightly gruesome story for children 6 years and up who enjoy a good laugh; The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams and Megan Lloyd is a wonderful action book that children can move along to; and Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler is a fun rhyming story with lots of animals for young children to participate in with animal sounds and movements.

October has arrived and with it all the wonderful things we love about the fall season. Our dance and art classes are rich with all that the fall colours, smells, crisp air & snuggly sweaters, etc and gratitude and thankfulness brings with it. Everyday we at Pegasus Dance Studios are grateful for being together in the studio, connecting with each other and sharing our love for the arts.
We have said it before, but in the season of Thanksgiving and gratitude, everyone at Pegasus is grateful to see the joy and excitement of being back in class. Together we are joyously and passionately building back and we are keenly aware of the need to focus on connecting, establishing new rhythms, building trust and relationship with each other and ourselves. We are seeing this joy, from the modern class that doesn’t want to leave at the end; the ballet class that is so amazed by all of the new techniques they are learning, the ballet students preparing for exams that they were unable to do last year; the jazz class that is still grooving on their way out the door, the new Ballet and Performance Companies excited about the possibilities of community performances! We relish it all and the time we have together in the studio, because as we know it is so precious. |
