At Pegasus, experience has shown us that dance training yields dividends far greater than jetés and arabesques: The benefits go far beyond the technique, shaping our students’ confidence, resilience, and social-emotional skills. So it’s no surprise that throughout this pandemic season, we have noticed an increase in these benefits in our dancers. In fact, it’s made us realize just how important it is that we pay attention to the whole health of each child. Here’s a bit more about what we’ve observed:
Dance has helped our students stay connected. Sure, that seems obvious at first, but it’s more than what it seems on the surface. Not only have they been connected through their commitment, dance class has proven to be the place where many of our kids feel most connected to their friends. They feel understood and valued. It’s almost like they have a secret language, where everyone shares a love for the art form.

Can you believe that it’s already February!
We are so excited to be entering one of our favourite months at the studio. Typically we fill the studio with hearts of gratitude and love notes often covering the mirrors and stringing heart garlands through the halls and stairways. Let’s keep the tradition going and keep love and gratitude in the air, in our life, and in our dance classes. Not only for our peers and family members but, for ourselves! We look forward to building personal skills this month as we weave our lessons in the classroom with lessons of life. Building self-confidence and SELF-LOVE! Let's find our joy and love and share it with others. We would love your dancer to complete one of these sentences or draw a picture of what they love about themselves or others and share it in the Pegasus Dance Studios Families Facebook page. If you are not already a member of that group, please join and share in the fun! |
