 Welcome to the club, dance moms and dads! Now that you’ve formally signed your child up for lessons and you’ve gotten all the pertinent information about the season, you are officially a dance parent at Pegasus Studios!
Being a dance parent at Pegasus is being part of a special community; there’s new lingo to learn and a whole culture that you are now a part of. Here’s the inside scoop on what you need to know for your new status as a Pegasus Studios dance mom or dad: Study up on your dancewear vocab. A leotard is the form-fitting bodysuit that dancers wear to class, and tights are worn underneath (kinda like pantyhose). Ballet shoes are usually pink and should fit snugly on your child’s feet; don’t buy them with room to grow! Tap shoes are the noisy ones, and jazz shoes look a little like slip-on ballet shoes, except with a small heel.

 AUGUST MONTHLY MINUTE
How time flies!! We are halfway through summer already! The studio is on limited staff for the next couple of weeks as we rest, rejuvenate and regroup! We may take longer to respond, but please email us at [email protected] if you have any questions about Fall registration, Summer Dance Intensive or Half Day August camps. INTRODUCING… We are excited to introduce two new ballet teachers this fall and one alumni that is returning to us as a teacher. Lauren Peter is a graduate of the TTP at NBS. She has performed across Canada with Ballet Jorgen in Swan Lake and the Nutcracker but now focuses on teaching. She is dedicated to creating a positive and encouraging learning environment for her dancers. Kennedy Dale-Johnson is also a graduate of the TTP at NBS as well as a registered teacher with ISTD. She has a vast amount of experience working with dancers of all ages. She is coming to us from a long standing position in Waterloo. Her classes put a focus on both physical and mental wellbeing by building confidence and positive peer relationships. And welcome home to Ava Phenix-Ng who will be joining us as a full faculty member this fall. Many of our students and families have had the pleasure of watching Ava perform in our spring showcase and with our Performance Team while she was a student at Pegasus. We are so thrilled to have her return to teach in our Ballet and our Jazz+ Departments this year. |
