October brings many things to be Grateful for and this year is no exception.
We have begun a monthly theme as a thread to bring our Pegasus community together, in our studio halls and for our faculty to string through their classes each month. September was about Kindness and Friendship (see the bulletin board, with our ‘seeds of kindness’ the dancers have written) as we focused on making new friends and the excitement to see friends from last year. Each of our teachers have been facilitating connection and setting up positive learning experiences with a sense of kindness and how we show it to ourselves and each other. October's theme is Gratitude and it is always a perfect time as we fully immerse ourselves into Autumn, Thanksgiving and being thankful that we are fully into our routines and rhythms that I hope are finding some comfort in your homes. Teaching our children and reminding ourselves to develop a habit of appreciation, gratitude and being aware of how we show it in our daily lives will be our focus this month. Why does Gratitude matter? In the words of Tracey Wonzy from the lessons we teach in STAR Leadership, ‘Having a grateful heart is being content with what you have. A person that is grateful for what they have will take care of the things they own, enjoy the moments they share with others and will waste less time seeking more things that they may not have. People that live a life of gratitude experiences fulfillment in the lives they are living and do not look outside for more’. We appreciate you and your family and are grateful that you chose our community to dance and find joy through the arts. With a grateful heart, Jane Artistic Director
