November Monthly Minute

Welcome to the beginning of a new month!  

We have had a jam packed start to our dance season while adapting to the changes in our world. At the moment we have settled into a new routine that feels good.

Last week's Halloween celebrations were filled with joy seeing those children who came to dance in costumes and had their pictures taken in our makeshift photo booth!  For those children who wanted to pose for a picture, we uploaded the pictures to your parent portal in the classes section.  Click on the resources button to view the pictures. I hope you enjoy them! 

So, what to look forward to this month? Read on for updates on classes, RAD exams, Spring showcases, and PA Day Camp!

We are looking for solutions to coming into the studio with boots and winter coats and how to manage all of that.  We have a few ideas we are working on.  One being to have plastic bins for all your dancers' belongings to go in. We would clean between each dancer. 
We are also looking for different entrances to the building to ease lining up outside in the bad weather and better lighting for the side of the building.
We are also open to suggestions, so if you have a good thought please feel free to email Jane.
Until we have that all in place,  please send your dancer with a waterproof bag large enough for their footwear and a dance bag for their coat or belongings to be brought safely into class.

We are finding that water bottles for the youngest dancers are not particularly necessary and are cumbersome for them to manage. They are heavy for them to carry, sometimes open and leak in their bags, and they are not needed in the short time they are in class.  We are also not having group water breaks, for health reasons, so they are given individual water breaks when needed.
As you know your child best, it is up to you if you wish to send a water bottle with them, or better yet have one with you to give them a drink after class when you pick them up.  That would be just one less thing for them to carry and manage.  

Frozen Friends PA Day Camp

Join us for a fun filled morning inspired by our Frozen Friends. November 20 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. For children 4-8 years for only $35! Non-Pegasus children are also welcome, so feel free to pass on this information. Learn more here.

RAD Ballet Exam Update

We are working hard to solidify dates for our Royal Academy of Dance Examinations and Class Awards.  Although nothing is confirmed, we ask that you “pencil in” the following dates for your dancers:
Vocational Students and Discovering Repertoire are tentatively scheduled for Sunday November 29th 
The remainder of students Grade 3 and above on Sunday December 13th (includes Discovering Repertoire for Variation Exams).

Spring Showcase 2021 Update

We are moving forward with our Showcase preparations although we know that things will look a bit different this year. As we are not able to predict what the COVID regulations will be in the Spring, we have put together four Showcase options that will happen over the course of May 29-30 and June 5-6. Please see the attached document for more details.

Our theme for the Showcase this year is “Magic”. I’m sure we can all use a little bit of magic these days and we are excited to start planning to find the Magic in our studio!
