Growing Young Leaders

Now that we have all settled into the rhythm of school and activities we hope that our children have all that they need to meet the world with excitement, enthusiasm and energy!!  As a parent, grandmother and educator I share your wish to have joyful, happy and healthy children. If only it was as simple as wishing everyday would be wonderful and we would fall into bed fulfilled and sleep soundly.

I have wished that for my own children, and even if you don’t realize, every teacher at Pegasus holds your children in their hearts and minds as they go home at the end of their day wondering if they have done enough, made an impact and made a difference in the life of your children.

During the last couple of years, knowing that our children may need extra support, a place, and other caring adults, to make them feel safe, seen, heard and belong, I realized Pegasus and myself could do more. I looked for additional resources and training to go beyond the wonderful life skills that the arts; movement, dance and our Pegasus community do to nurture and support our children. I found Adventure In Wisdom ® and became a certified Wisdom Coach ®. With that, Karma Kids and the STAR leadership program that has been part of our Student Teacher Education Program for many years, we have created, developed and are now offering a series of programs called, Growing Young Leaders; Life skills for kids for ages 3 and up.

It has always been part of our mission to nurture and empower children to be confident leaders of tomorrow and now we offer specific programs to help them with life skills, confidence, overcome anxiety and build self-esteem. 

Each program is a little different so each child can grow with the program.  These are not exclusive to Pegasus students and families, but if you are part of the Pegasus community you will get a discounted price.

*Karma kids for ages 3-6 yrs - A fun mindfulness program that builds emotional intelligence through short play based activities. Planting seeds with awareness to build character values.
Offered in 4 week mini sessions, the first, starting on Friday, October 14 from 4:30-5:00.
 
*Adventures in wisdom for ages 7-10 yrs - Our first mini session is called ‘Project Confidence’. Whether or not kids believe in themselves will shape who they are and what they create in their lives- do they go for it in life or do they sit on the sidelines? 
Powerful self-confidence isn’t something kids either have or don’t have. Believing in themselves, even after they’ve experienced disappointment, is a skill that they can develop! 
Kids often feel that they have to feel confident before they do something new; however, exactly the opposite is true. The fear doesn’t go away and the confidence doesn’t come until after they take action.
The good news is that they can learn how to believe in themselves, even when there is no evidence they will be successful!

Join us for the first four week session, starting Friday, October 14- 7-10 years 5:00-5:45 pm
 
*Star leadership for ages 11-14 yrs - this is the foundation of our STEPP (student teacher education Pegasus program) and is once a month for 9 sessions. The STAR leadership program is designed on the 5 points of the star which represents the core values of a successful leader; Trust, Serve, Love, Excellence and Growth. 
This program develops a strong foundation in character values and servant leadership needed for the future leaders of the next generation.
