AUGUST MONTHLY MINUTE

How time flies!!  We are halfway through summer already!  
The studio is on limited staff for the next couple of weeks as we rest, rejuvenate and regroup!  We may take longer to respond, but please email us at [email protected] if you have any questions about Fall registration, Summer Dance Intensive or Half Day August camps.  

INTRODUCING…

We are excited to introduce two new ballet teachers this fall and one alumni that is returning to us as a teacher.

Lauren Peter is a graduate of the TTP at NBS. She has performed across Canada with Ballet Jorgen in Swan Lake and the Nutcracker but now focuses on teaching.  She is dedicated to  creating a positive and encouraging learning environment for her dancers.

Kennedy Dale-Johnson is also a graduate of the TTP at NBS as well as a registered teacher with ISTD.  She has a vast amount of experience working with dancers of all ages. She is coming to us from a long standing position in Waterloo.  Her classes put a focus on both physical and mental wellbeing by building confidence and positive peer relationships.

And welcome home to Ava Phenix-Ng who will be joining us as a full faculty member this fall.  Many of our students and families have had the pleasure of watching Ava perform in our spring showcase and with our Performance Team while she was a student at Pegasus.  We are so thrilled to have her return to teach in our Ballet and our Jazz+ Departments this year.

INTENSIVE SUMMER DANCE PROGRAM

August 23 to September 3rd
We intentionally put this program at the end of the summer to get back into dance training after a summer break and for those who have not danced in spaces bigger than their bedroom for many, many months.  Things will be different coming back this year as we are less physically fit and many of us have missed dancing with our friends.

We have some amazing guest teachers joining us and will be introducing our new Ballet teachers during our Summer Dance Intensive for dancers 11 years and up.

For those dancers with big plans for the fall, Ballet or Performance Company, RAD examination goals, and pointe shoes, now is the perfect time to get ahead of your goals, get back into shape and start September ahead of the curve.  We can help you reach your goals!  Our Pegasus teachers are excited to get started and our guest teachers will offer some fun and different dance genres to try.

There is limited space left in this program.  Time is now to get a jump start on getting back into dancing shape before September classes!  

FALL REGISTRATION
We are excited to be back in the studio and are looking forward to starting our 35th season this fall.  Some of our classes are already full, some are filling up quickly and some still have space.  Please register as soon as possible to guarantee your child’s spot in our classes.

PEGASUS YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

This fall we are launching our monthly Youth Leadership & Student Teacher Education Pegasus Program.  This program is an expansion of our annual summer STEP program, a leadership and teacher training program for students ages 11 t0 18 years interested in expanding their skills and knowledge within the dance studio.  Students will meet monthly with a mentor teacher to learn and develop leadership, mindfulness, and assistant teaching skills in our nurturing and supportive environment.  Students will also have the opportunity to help with younger classes and events around the studio.  For more information please email the studio at [email protected].

DARBY’S DANCERS

Pegasus Studios is excited to be an affiliate member of Darby’s Dancers, a specialized program for children and youth with special needs.  This program offers dance classes to students of all physical and neurological abilities and matches the students with a STEPP participant buddy to assist them one on one in the class.  This is our first year offering the Darby’s Dancers classes taught by a certified Rhythm Works teacher.  At Pegasus Studios we will be subsidising the cost of joining the Darby’s Dancers class through fundraising.  To learn more about Darby’s Dancers please visit https://www.darbysdancers.org/. REFERRAL PROGRAM

We love referrals!  We are always so thrilled when our Pegasus families recommend the studio to their friends and family.  These recommendations tell us that you like what we are doing and push us to continue to offer our best programming for your children.  Our referral program offers a $30 tuition credit to both the family enrolling and the family that recommended us.  We hope that you will recommend us to your friends and family as well!

SUMMER PRIVATES

We have some limited spaces available for students who would like to get back into the studio one on one with Carolyn Pratley.  Carolyn is offering private sessions in ballet to help students get back into shape and return to training.  If you are interested you can register through your parent portal.  Look for Privates in Classes.
