3 tips for a happy recital season

It is January at Pegasus, which means Recital season is in full bloom. Recitals can be overwhelming and a bit chaotic at times. Below are some tips to planning for a successful recital.

1. Gather all the information and important dates in one place. The easiest way to keep track of everything is to visit our website. The Recital pages have all the information and the calendar (our Google calendar can be synced to your own account so you can see the upcoming dates if you like) has the important dates. Information to watch for:
   1. Recital schedules - these tell you the specific day and time your child is performing. 
   2. Junior Recital Only – costume pick up information
   3. Accessory charts – these tell you hairstyles and dance wear that you need to provide (for example: hair in a bun, ballet slippers and tights)
   4. Picture & Dress Rehearsal Week – dates and details
   5. Ticket information – prices, when they go on sale and how to buy them
   6. Recital DVD and Picture ordering information
   7. Drop off and pick up details
2. Take some time to plan the night before the recitals. Pack your dance bag and double-check the accessory charts, tickets and time of the recitals.
3. Remember to have fun. Although this can be stressful time the point is for dancers to show off their hard work and for parents to see the joy and passion their children have in themselves and their progress. Yes, we dress it all up with fancy costumes, lights and music, but underneath all that the main goal is to be proud of what has happened throughout the year.
