For children born in 2022-2023

Dance With Me is a once a week parent/caregiver and child music and movement class that has been designed to meet the developmental needs of the young child.  Through song, story, rhyme and play children and their caregivers will explore the many elements of music and dance.

Children must be 10 months by the start date

Wednesday 10:00-10:45 am

​Please wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to dance in bare feet. ​

Class Tuition: $78+ HST per month

Multi class discount on 2nd and more classes per family. ​​

​Little Ballet

For children born in 2021

Music & Movement:
Using percussion instruments, varieties of sounds, music and dance, the children will focus on communication through expression, controlled motion, movement and stillness along with patterning and perceptual awareness.  

Children will be encouraged to explore their own spontaneous movements, improvisations, and imagination to help them find the joy and magic of movement.   Development of basic locomotor skills, body awareness and control increases awareness of time, energy, spatial concepts, shape and form. ​

Little Ballet:
​Our ballet programs are designed to introduce our youngest dancers to classical techniques in a nurturing and supportive environment.  Through a variety of music, songs, and rhymes children will develop gross motor skills and confidence.  The classes are imagination driven and  will become the foundation for the love of dance and movement for years to come.​​

​Childhood Expressions™ Fine Arts Preschool

For children born in 2019-2022

Our three mornings a week fine arts preschool program fosters happy, healthy, creative children

​Our program offers music, movement, and visual art classes, with extensions in dramatic play and nature discovery that are linked together with stories, both oral and literary.

Music & Movement
The theme of the day will be explored using percussion instruments, varieties of sounds, music and dance. The children will be encouraged to explore their own spontaneous movements, improvisations, and imagination to help them find the joy and magic of movement. 

Exploring Art
This segment of the day allows the young child to discover, explore and experiment. In this process they will be introduced to many concepts including colour, shape, form and texture while experiencing joy, patience, creativity and the mystery of manipulating various materials. ​

Dramatic Play & Nature Discovery
Exploring the theme of the day through role playing, social interactions and cooperation as we integrate books, felt board stories, puppets, finger plays, rhymes, dramatic play, and nature into each lesson, this segment builds language, vocabulary and sequencing.

Sample Day

• 8:45-9:00 - Drop off
• 9:00-9:30 - Dramatic play and circle time
• 9:30-10:10 - Music & movement class
• 10:10-10:30 - Toileting and snack break
• 10:30-11:15 - Story time and exploring art class
• 11:15-11:30 - Extension activities  & goodbye song

The length of each class and the rhythm of the morning will be determined on the theme of the day and the needs of the children

What to Bring

• Snack and water bottle (we are a nut free facility)
• Clothing that facilitates easy movement (dance class is done in bare feet)
• Change of clothes, underwear or diapers and any supplies your child needs for toileting (we have child size toilet seats)
• Indoor shoes

​This program is for children 2.5-5 years olds. Children need to be 30 months by start date to be successful in this program.

• Creative Drama Studio provides a space for role playing through dress up, creating stories with puppets and felt boards.
• Lesson plans that integrate all the Fine Arts for a complete sensory learning experience.​

Register

• The school season is from September 2024 through June 2025. We will follow all TDSB school holidays.

Childhood Expressions is not a Day Care but a Specialty Creative Arts Program.
