Dance with Me

A once a week parent/caregiver and child music and movement class that has been designed to meet the developmental needs of the young child. Through song, story, rhyme and play, children and their caregivers will explore the many elements of music and dance. Nannies and grandparents welcome!

​Little Wigglers Winter Session -  6 week Session 
Wednesday 10:15-11:00 am 1-3 year olds
Saturday 8:45-9:30 am 1-3 year olds (starting in September 2025)

Tiny Toes Winter Session -  6 week Session 
Wednesday 11:15-12:00 pm 0-1 year olds

​​Childhood Expressions™ Fine Arts Preschool 2.5-5 year olds

Our twice a week program offers a rich blend of music, movement, and visual art, thoughtfully woven together with dramatic play and nature exploration. Each element is connected through storytelling—both oral and literary—creating an immersive, imaginative experience that supports creativity, self-expression, and a love of learning.

​Music & Movement
The theme of the day will be explored using percussion instruments, varieties of sounds, music and dance. The children will be encouraged to explore their own spontaneous movements, improvisations, and imagination to help them find the joy and magic of movement. 

Exploring Art
This segment of the day allows the young child to discover, explore and experiment. In this process they will be introduced to many concepts including colour, shape, form and texture while experiencing joy, patience, creativity and the mystery of manipulating various materials. 

​Dramatic Play & Nature Discovery
Exploring the theme of the day through role playing, social interactions and cooperation as we integrate books, felt board stories, puppets, finger plays, rhymes, dramatic play, and nature into each lesson, this segment builds language, vocabulary and sequencing.

Sample Day

• 8:45-9:00 - Drop off
• 9:00-9:30 - Dramatic play and circle time
• 9:30-10:10 - Music & movement class
• 10:10-10:30 - Toileting and snack break
• 10:30-11:15 - Story time and exploring art class
• 11:15-11:30 - Extension activities  & goodbye song

The length of each class and the rhythm of the morning will be determined on the theme of the day and the needs of the children

What to Bring

• Snack and water bottle (we are a nut free facility)
• Clothing that facilitates easy movement (dance class is done in bare feet)
• Change of clothes, underwear or diapers and any supplies your child needs for toileting (we have child size toilet seats)
• Indoor shoes

What Sets Us Apart

• Lesson plans that integrate all the Fine Arts for a complete sensory learning experience.​

Music & Movement- 3 year olds

This class introduces children to the world of rhythm, sound, and movement, blending dance, percussion, and musical play. Through exploration and improvisation, children will discover how to communicate through movement, developing skills in rhythm, patterning, and body control.

As they engage with music and dance, they’ll enhance their awareness of time, space, and energy, while building confidence and coordination. This class sparks creativity and encourages young dancers to express themselves through movement in a joyful, imaginative environment.

Little Ballet- 3 year olds

The Pegasus Ballet Program introduces young dancers to the grace and discipline of classical ballet in a nurturing, imaginative environment. Through music, songs, and rhymes, our youngest dancers build confidence, coordination, and foundational motor skills—all while discovering the joy of movement. These creative and concept-driven classes spark a love of dance that can last a lifetime.

Parent Work Space

In the fall of 2023 we were proud to announce a new place for parents to stay and work while their child is participating in Childhood Expressions!

• The school season is from September through June. We will follow all TDSB school holidays.

Childhood Expressions is not a Day Care but a Specialty Creative Arts Program.
