March Monthly Minute

Welcome to March at Pegasus Studios!!

This past month we have been focusing on Compassion.  Around the studio are hundreds of hearts with compassionate messages from our students to each other and reminders to themselves.  Our spirits were lifted as we discussed this theme and had lots of wonderful conversations. Your children have shown love, encouragement and support for each other and themselves. The social-emotional connection we are all craving is happening right here in our studios! At Pegasus Studios we are known for and focus on developing life skills, connection, confidence and compassion.  We use the Arts as our vehicle for your child’s development and partner with you in a community that I believe is essential for the health of our children.

As some of you know, we are part of a global organization that our staff and faculty are certified with, YPAD (Youth Protection Advocates of Dance), that supports happy, healthy and safe teaching practices, music, choreography and costuming.   With that focus in mine we have begun to work on Showcase choreography, costuming and reinforcing Body Positive messages by  encouraging body positivity in our classes. Language like “Body Love Zone;” “Don’t forget to thank your body today!” “Everybody has a different body and that body's a gift!” "Dance is for everyBODY!"   Positive change starts with us!

Lots of fun things are coming up in the next few months.  Take a look below to stay up to date.
Did you know we have short Mini-Sessions? Short fun sessions for your child or maybe a neighbor you have been telling about Pegasus? 
Kid Dance: Introduces children to ballet sequences and the basics steps of jazz.
4-6 year olds Saturday 1:45-2:30 pm 10 Week session starting March 5 2022 
6-8 year olds Monday 5:45 to 6:30 pm 8 Week session starting March 21, 2022 
Fairytale Ballet: 4-6 year olds Wednesday 4:45 to 5:30 pm 8 Week session begins March 21, 2022


UPCOMING DATES TO MARK ON YOUR CALENDARS:
March 1 - Childhood Expressions Fine Arts Preschool registration is open for Fall 2022, for children starting at 30 months
March 14-20 - Closed for March Break
April 2 - Spring Fling Party (more details to follow)
April 15-17 - Easter Weekend  (We are having classes on Easter Monday April 18, this year as a make-up day for our delayed opening in Jan. ‘22)
April 30-May 5 - Picture Week and In House Dress Rehearsal for ALL Performers
May 28 - Little Mini Showcase (Mini Modern and Little Ballet Classes) & Art Show
May 28 - Last day of classes for all Jr. Showcase dancers and Art classes
May 29 - Jr. Showcase
June 3 - Last Day of all Sr. Showcase classes (season extended to make up our delayed opening in Jan. ‘22)
June 4 & 5 - Sr. Showcase
June 23 - Last class for Childhood Expressions Fine Arts Program
