Ballet & Pointe

Our Ballet Programs are based on the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, a professional classical Ballet training program using developmentally appropriate exercises and techniques. Ballet classes focus on the classical technique while incorporating the artistic aspects of the dance form. 
The Royal Academy of Dance's Vocational syllabus continues from the Graded syllabus in developing strong classical ballet training. Pointe work is introduced in this stream and the curriculum takes a pre-professional approach to training young dancers. ​

Modern

Modern dance incorporates technical skills with creative exploration to develop performance dynamics, choreographic and improvisational skills. ​

Contemporary

Contemporary is rooted in the techniques Ballet, Modern and Jazz with a focus on the current trends in the dance community. ​

Jazz & tap

Jazz and Tap classes encourage a vitality and enthusiasm for dance while training a versatile dancer. Tap teaches the understanding of the feet as musical instruments and Jazz focuses on developing technique while working on fun choreography.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a high energy form of dance that evolved from Break dancing and encompasses street style movements, also known as Urban Dance.

Art

In our Visual Arts classes, students create both 2D and 3D art, using a wide variety of materials for the purpose of expressing thoughts and ideas. Students learn innovative techniques and new skills in handling materials in an atmosphere of storytelling and positive encouragement.

AcroDance

AcroDance is a combination of dance and acrobatic gymnastics based movements and tricks. Students learn tumbling and tricks and work to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and lyrical- based movement alignment in order to achieve the safest approach to all tricks. As AcroDance is strongly based in the tumbling and trick skills, these classes are focussed on individual progression

Fall program registration will open June 1st. Please check back later in May for more details. 

• Due to current government guidelines we are limiting class sizes. We encourage you to add your name to the waitlist of any classes that are full, so that we can open more spots as we are able, or add a second class to the schedule where possible. ​

*We aim to create a safe and inclusive space for dancers of all genders. 
Please choose the uniform option that is most comfortable. 

​OPTION 1*: 

Ballet - Black camisole bodysuit, ballet pink tights, ballet pink slippers. RAD classes will also need character shoes. Character skirts are optional. 

​All other disciplines - Black camisole bodysuit & black leggings with:
Jazz - Jazz shoes / Tap - Tap shoes 
Modern & AcroDance - Bare feet Contemporary - Halfsoles
Hip Hop - Black socks, indoor black sneakers

​OPTION 2*:

​Ballet - White fitted t-shirt, black leggings, black socks, black ballet slippers. RAD classes will also need black jazz shoes for character.

​All other disciplines - Black fitted t-shirt, black jazz pants/leggings with:
Jazz - Jazz shoes / Tap - Tap shoes
Modern & AcroDance - Bare feet Contemporary - Halfsoles
Hip Hop - Black socks, indoor black sneakers

At the end of the dance school year, our dance classes participate in a dance showcase! Our Senior Showcase takes place at the Meridian Arts Centre.  ​

​DATES:
May 29, May 30, June 5, or June 6

COSTUMES:
Costumes are rented to each dancer. The cost is $66 + HST. A deposit is added to your November 15 payment and the balance is added to your February 15 payment. The costume fee is non-refundable. 

​TICKETS:
Tickets will be available through TicketMaster in the spring of 2021.

OPTIONAL COSTS:
​Some optional costs include; showcase photos, showcase digital video, showcase t-shirt

45 min classes = $862 + HST​
​60 min classes = $894 +HST
​Fees are paid in 7 Equal Installments

• ​HST will be added to all fees.
• Costumes fees are non-refundable. Costume rental vs purchase determined by class.

• There is a $30 administration fee for all cancellations. No refunds after February 1st
• ​10% discount on 2nd and more classes per family. ​​
• $30 referral tuition credit for new family and referring family.
